SUNDAY CYCLING

It goes without saying that our bikes are pretty old (we worked out that we have had them since the late 90's), and it has certainly been quite some time since mine has seen the light of day! After a few swift repairs and a couple of new tyres, Stu and I took off for a little scoot around our local parks!

Even though I noticed the leaves were changing colour and dropping, there were still a few specks of vibrancy here and there! Summer has not completely disappeared just yet!

Later on, we decided  to move on to another local place - Pennington Park. Read more here.

Pennington Park recently re-opened a completely refurbished tea room, which has been beautifully decorated in an old-fashioned style, and as you can see from my above photo, your pot of tea is served with a gorgeous cup and saucer. The jam and cream scones were delicious too, and the perfect accompaniment to a refreshing cuppa! The lovely ladies who run the tearooms are volunteers, and are working really hard to make the place a success! Well, it was certainly heaving this weekend!

Both places are great for cycling, running, dog-walking and taking the family for  pic-nic, not to metion the regular events they hold, along with golfing facilities! If the weather is good then that's obviously a bonus, but the autumn views are spectacular also!

What are your local parks like?
